"My body, my choice"
"If a lie is repeated often enough, it's believed." P.J.Goebbels (1897-1945) - Hitler's propaganda chief.
"We do not want to be a movement of a few straw brains, but rather a movement that can conquer the broad masses. Propaganda should be popular, not intellectually pleasing. It is not the task of propaganda to discover intellectual truths. Those are found in other circumstances. I find them when thinking at my desk, but not in the meeting hall".
"The best propaganda is that which, as it were, works invisibly, penetrates the whole of life without the public having any knowledge of the propagandistic initiative".
"My Party is my church".

what are you trying to say?
as a woman you bet it's my choice!!!!
men LOL!!!
i wonder what you all would think if the law and custom decreed what happened to your prostate or other male only anatomy
and yes, that Nazi reference is offensive!
[As regards the heading, I'm thinking about the baby's body and choice.]
it was the linkage between what some women belief ( and is NOT propaganda to them) - to propaganda - and to Nazis - that was not up to your usual style
you are much better than that
I rarely agree with you. I have, previously, always respected you even when I found you walked a line I disliked.
No longer.
The fact that you can uphold your church with a man who cheerfully made acceptable the slaughter of millions of people, people already here and walking this earth, people who were tortured to death, had their deaths then used to torture their remaining family members tells me everything I never wanted to know about what kind of man you are and what kind of church you represent.
As tediousandbrief said: Disgusting. Uncalled for. Infuriating. Offensive enough to put me in tears.
And bitterly, bitterly expected. Push someone far enough and they always reveal the monster inside. Congratulations: I just saw yours.
In England alone 200,000 abortions are carried out each year.
What Goebbles made acceptable was extermination due to prejudice and bigotry, and the torture of those select groups of people. Worse, he convinced people they could enjoy it. That it was righteous.
How dare you call yourself a Christian and demean people making this choice. Not everyone is pleased to have an abortion. For some, for many, it is utterly devastating.
And you think that's like 1940's Nazis?
I honestly never thought you could actively disgust me. Clearly I was wrong. Congratulations.
words, words, words!
You, it is now more than clear, do not.
And "words, words, words"? You made a post in words. I responded. Whatever your point is there, you've clearly not made it.
you can not equate the extermination of people because of their faith with abortion!!!
and Irish men should know that
Not just because it's vile and offensive, but also because "You're just like the Nazis!" is an accusation made in many arguments these days, and it never proves a point. Comparing *anyone* to a Nazi only makes sense if they are pursuing genocide or using torture. You will never convince anyone that they're like a Nazi-- certainly not women who need a medical procedure.
Ending a pregnancy is a medical decision, because pregnancy is a physical condition. When a woman is forced by the government to endure a physical condition that endangers her life and personal liberty, that is tyranny of the worst kind: the reduction of a woman to an object whose body is property of the state.
To a woman, having a physical condition forced upon her body can also feel like Nazi torture. The Nazis were experts at treating human beings as mere objects.
Abortion is not murdering a baby. An embryo or fetus is not a baby. It doesn't have human rights, because it doesn't have a human life. It does not take precedence over the human rights of a thinking, feeling, living woman. A woman is more important than a fetus.
You may disagree with what I've just said. But I don't hate babies and want to torture and murder them. I do not want to exterminate babies. I'm not a Nazi.
Don't compare people to Nazis. Not even people who use slogans.
Wow, every company that advertises, must be filled with Nazis!
glad i came back to read this
thank you magnifelyn
i think the women who participate in this site deserve an apology for a comparison to Nazis
I agree, but doubt he will do so or even understands why someone would take offense. I'd say it would be nice for him to issue an apology to those whose groups actually suffered during the Holocaust or even just under Goebbels's propaganda for trying to make the comparison, but, again...I doubt he even realizes why anyone would take offense to it.
