Edmund Rice International

Edmund Rice International (ERI), centred in Geneva, is a non-governmental organisation (NGO) committed to working for children and young people who are marginalised because of poverty, lack of access to education, legal status, environmental degradation, or involvement in armed conflict. It works at the international level to promote and protect the rights of children and young people particularly in regard to education. It is inspired by the vision and life of Blessed Edmund Rice, and believes that education in all its forms offers opportunities for the promotion of a rights-based and faith-based approach to social justice and ecological advocacy. Its main focus is the promotion of the Right to Education, the Rights of the Child and Care for the Earth. In many parts of the world Edmund Rice people are working with and on behalf of indigenous peoples, migrants, refugees and asylum seekers. ERI is recognised by the United Nations as an organisation that can promote the goals of the United Nations charter.
