Culture Night in Wexford

VocareTonight across Ireland locals and visitors enjoyed the unique experience of Culture Night, a night of free entertainment, discovery and adventure taking place in towns and cities all over the country. Museums, galleries, churches, historic houses, artists' studios and cultural centres opened their doors late in the evening welcoming people of all ages and tastes to sample their cultural neighbourhood.

Here in Wexford Town we had 36 different events in many venues. I managed to attend only 4 of them myself and regretted not being able to make it to many more. Each presentation lasted just 30 minutes. The ones I managed to reach were:

Vocare (above) is an S.A.T.B. choral group, based in the town. It has been recently invited to perform in Carnegie Hall, New York, in February 2013, in the Carnegie Hall debut of The World Beloved: A Bluegrass Mass, by Carol Barnett.

Paul James is a A gifted animal and landscape artist and a creative composer and pianist, Isis igifted animal and landscape artist and a creative Jazz composer and pianist.

Sonraigh Youth Dance, a Myriad Dance/Arts Dept. is a Wexford Council Council  initiative and offers audiences an opportunity to view high quality contemporary and modern dance.

Wexford Light Opera Society gave us 'The Hits from the Musicals'.

All in all a few hours of wonderful entertainment.

Sounds like a marvelous evening. What a great event!
Indeed it was.
