Busking for Simon

A greater effort than usual has been made this Christmas time to help those in greatest need. Many charities have been inundated  this year for help with food and shelter.

As usual U2 frontman Bono and others such as Sinéad O'ConnorDamian Rice, Desire, Oscar-winning musician Glen Hansard, and others were out in Grafton Street, the busy Dublin shopping street, for their annual Christmas Eve busking session in aid of the Simon Community, the local homeless charity. O'Connor gave a rendition of her biggest hit: Nothing Compares 2 U.

I love Bono (I love Sinead's music, too, but she needs some serious therapy). Anyway, have you ever been to a U2Charist? There was a student who graduated my school a couple of years ago. He is an excellent musician, and he made it is his specialty. You can see it on DVD, but one can also get the music/words etc, and if someone has enough training and talent, one can perform it for an audience oneself. It is really incredible... very emotionally compelling for me. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U2charist
No, I've never heard it (or of it). I'm more for classical music I'm afraid.

Just wanted to say hi and glad to still see you here. ;)

I was busy on the 22nd with a sick child or I would've checked in with you then. :)

Hope you have a great New Year's! :)
