This autumn has been wonderful for walkers and I love walking. One of my favourite walks is what is called The Raven Point Walk situated across the Slaney Estuary from Wexford town. Raven Point is a spit, a type of peninsula created by deposited sand. There is a wonderful loop walk through the woods to the Point and back along the shore. One can do the whole loop which would take a few hours - especially if one takes time to enjoy the surroundings. But there are several points at which one can take a shot-cut back along the beach. It is a great walk any time of year with plenty of shelter during the winter.

Raven Point is planted with a forest of pine and other evergreen trees. It is also a sanctuary for birds such as geese and wildlife, especially the red squirrel, and seals can also be seen from the Point.
