GOOGLE, a Tower of Babel?

TowerWhere does one go to ask questions today? Have we finished with the need for search? Has GOOGLE all the answers? GOOGLE was conceived in 1997 - today it is powered by over one million computer servers and processes over one billion search results daily.

But haven't we seen all this before in the story of the Tower of Babel in Genesis (11.5) where we read:  "Behold, they are one people, and they have all one language, and this is only the beginning of what they will do. And nothing that they propose to do will now be impossible for them.

Back then, of course, these guys apparently didn't get to finish their edifice... The problem was not with the building, but with the intent of the builders: "let us make for ourselves a name, otherwise we will be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth"  although only a short while before that God had told Noah: " As for you, be fruitful and multiply; populate the earth abundantly  and multiply in it".

They had found a place they liked and decided to quit God and settle where they were comfortable. To top this, they were going to "reach heaven", to find God on their own.
The "problem at Babel" was pride, arrogance, and an unwillingness to follow God's command to replenish the earth after the flood.

Will GOOGLE and laptops solve all our problems?
